Touring the East Coast - Part 2

After we said our good byes in Nova Scotia, we hopped onto the ferry to take us to Prince Edward Island.  I have some family friends who live on the Island, so we try to get a visit in with them if we head out that way.  The ferry ride went well.  My silly Joyful was a bit of a nut, she was SO excited to be on the boat.  No fear in that girl.  Us adults got a little sea sick when indoors, but did fine while we were on the deck.

When we arrived in PEI, we were at Wood Island.  A tiny little place with lighthouses, playground equipment, and a play sized wharf.  So we took a few moments to run, play, and learn.  Well worth it!

A funny thing happened while we were on the Island.  Through the miracle that is Facebook, we discovered that one of my cousins was there with his wife and children visiting with his Dad and family.  Considering that this cousin (I have many) lives in Alberta, and we have never met his daughter (who is about 18 months old) we JUMPED on the chance to squeeze in a visit in with them.  It was great to get to see them, and meet his Dad's family.  Unfortunately we forgot to take any photos until we were about to climb in the van to leave.  Mum has a few more, thankfully!

This trip was extra special since my mom came out with us.  One of the families that we visit is that of my mother's best friend, and my mother hadn't been out to the Island since 1994, when she helped them move there.  We greatly enjoyed our dinner they made us, while getting to see the new home that they had built.  The visit went by too quickly, as always.

Then there is an amazing woman who I meet on the Internet while researching adoption.  Over the past 3 years she has become a dear friend to me.  Someone who I would not have made it through these past few years without.  I was lucky enough to met her in person last time we were out East, but it was a VERY quick visit.  Getting a chance to met up with her again was a huge bonus in my plans for this trip.  In the end we were able to met up at the most awesome park we've ever been too and have a little visit while the children played.
